Working Principle:
The pressure reducing valve operates by utilizing a combination of mechanical components and fluid dynamics to regulate and stabilize pressure within a fluid system. When the valve is installed in a pipeline, fluid enters through the inlet port at a higher pressure. Inside the valve body, a sensing mechanism detects the incoming pressure and communicates with an internal control mechanism. Based on the preset pressure setting, the control mechanism adjusts the position of a throttling element, such as a diaphragm, piston, or spring-loaded mechanism.

As the fluid flows through the valve, the throttling element modulates the flow area, restricting the passage of fluid to achieve the desired downstream pressure. This controlled reduction in pressure allows the fluid to exit through the outlet port at a consistent, predetermined pressure level. If the downstream pressure exceeds the setpoint, the control mechanism reacts accordingly, adjusting the throttling element to maintain the desired pressure.
